Ratio Project Co-Ordinator

Steve joined Youth Genesis in September 2019 to co-ordinate and promote the Ratio project. 

Steve also supports volunteer recruitment and delivers focused volunteer training and supervision for the RATIO team.  Steve is a person-centred practitioner who has been working with families and young people in Torbay for many years.  Steve is passionate that volunteers from the local community are the best source of support for local young people.

Jonathan Oliverio

Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan Oliverio BA (Hons), Assoc CIPD, Dip CMI  

Job Description: Jonathan is one of the founders of Youth Genesis, driving the vision to bring sustainable and effective youth services for all young people. Jonathan’s role involves working with the Board of Directors to design and implement strategy as well as working behind the scenes to develop new partnerships, generate new business and secure funding to ensure the sustainability and growth of services for the benefit of young people.

With a background in rural community development and targeted work with young people at risk, Jonathan is passionate about working with communities at the grassroots level to grow life changing opportunities for disadvantaged young people. Jonathan believes that the solutions to most social dilemmas lie within the community – through processes of co-design and using strength-based methodologies, communities can self-identify local assets that can effect positive social change.

Michelle Taylor

Operations and Designated Safeguarding Lead

Michelle Taylor Dip CMI

Michelle oversees the Youth Genesis activities and projects in the South Hams and North Devon areas, working to support volunteers and staff to deliver the sessions. Michelle’s role includes project development and providing volunteer recruitment and volunteer training.

Michelle is the Safeguarding Lead for Youth Genesis and provides Safeguarding support and updates in legislation and policy implementation. Michelle feels that early intervention is important for young people as they grow and develop, as is informal learning. Being a Restorative Practitioner and involved in the Youth Justice Board, Michelle is passionate about working with youth offenders.

Elaine Blagden

Business and Finance Administrator

Elaine joined Youth Genesis in 2019 and has years of experience in both hospitality and finance.  Elaine’s role includes the general management of the main office, ordering supplies and provision’s requirements, updating the website, and finance administration of the charity.

Martina Taylor

Operations Lead for East Devon and Torbay

Martina has previously supported young people who had been excluded from mainstream school and has also supported adults with learning disabilities. Martina joined Youth Genesis in 2015 and volunteered as an assistant youth support worker and a session leader. Martina briefly left Youth Genesis at the end of 2017 and re-joined us in September 2018 as the Youth Innovation and Operations Manager. Martina’s role involves developing projects as well as line managing provisions in Cranbrook, Torbay and East Devon, working with and supporting volunteers to provide a sustainable youth service to young people living in their community. Martina is passionate about making a difference to young people’s lives, through informal learning.
